This painting is of a tranquil, peaceful scene. There are mountains in the distance and fog and mist. To the right, a hint of sunlight can be scene in an otherwise mostly desaturated scene. Further colour is evident in the flower which acts as an umbrella for a woman walking on the country lane.

This is a rural, country scene in Ireland. Inspired by surrealism, Dutch landscapes and my surroundings in Westmeath and Donegal, the surreal painting depicts hope and light for the times we live in.

There is a small deer in the fog whose antlers almost merge into the tree branches symbolising the connectedness of nature.

Painted during the Covid 19 pandemic, the scene depicts the colourless and foggy scene we are presented with. However, the summer flower represents the passing of winter and the pandemic which will come. The light breaking through the dark sky will spread further as the dark disperses. The fog too will lift.
